This Classification is a structured and organised tool and provides an overview of the construction sector as a whole. It lays down the framework for the construction works resulting from construction and civil engineering activities, harmonised with the EUROSTAT¿s classification of types of constructions. Its main objectives are as follows: Coordinated organisation of current surveys to building permits and completed buildings in construction and civil engineering and calculation of short-term indicators; Support to the preparation of national accounts with regards to determining the sector¿s assets; Its implementation in censuses of housing and other construction and civil engineering works; Answering Community and international questionnaires.
