Summary
The publication is the result of a study carried out by Statistics Portugal ¿ Regional Directorate of the Algarve, financed by the Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Algarve ¿ CCDRAlg (Algarve Commission of Coordination and Regional Development). Main objectives: The demographic and socio-economic characterisation of low-density areas in the Algarve Region; To understand the local recomposition/decomposition processes, aiming to support the definition of strategic policies within the scope of regional and local development; To perceive the current social reality, taking into consideration the interpretation that residents themselves make of the circumstances of local life.
