Summary
In this publication, Statistics Portugal disseminates the main statistical findings resulting from the Trade Establishments Survey – Large-sized Commercial Units, covering all Mainland establishments for the year 2006.
In 2006 there were 2 230 establishments under the concept of Large-sized Commercial Units (from now on referred to as UCDR), a 9% rise towards 2005, mainly on the retail trade subsector as opposed to wholesale trade which registered a slight decrease in the total number of establishments.
With regards to the year in which such units started business, 55.1% started between the years of 1991 and 2000, 39.4% after 2000 and only 5.5% before 1991.
