This article briefly presents the methodology used to construct monthly estimates of the population, by gender and NUTS III, for a period of fourteen months, giving particular emphasis to the forecasts of life births and deaths.
Both standard ARIMA models and seasonal unit roots tests were used to determine the order of integration of the time series. Due to the shortage of data, it was not possible to use the same method to forecast the net migration.
