This article was based on an exploratory statistical approach to internal migrations, taking as basis data
the XIV General Population Census 2001, considering the period 1995-2001 and 1999-2001, by NUTS II
units. The main goal is to analyse the impact of internal migrations on population growth, in order to
fundament internal migration assumptions for regional population projections.
