ANOVA and regression with dummy variables: more similarities than differences
Patrícia Oom do Vale , Efigénio Rebelo > Statistical Review - 1st Four-month 2002 > INE, 2002, p. 49 - 86

Summary

When all the regressors of a linear regression model are dummy variables, the model is often classified as “ANOVA model”, without the presentation of the theoretical and mathematical developments that sustain such designation. The purpose of the current study is to show how these techniques are related and prove mathematically that both models describe the same reality and produce similar statistical tests.

keywords: linear regression, dummy variables, two-way ANOVA.
