Eurostat and the statistical organisations of Europe celebrate European Statistics Day by promoting various initiatives to increase awareness and knowledge of the statistical activities they carry out at the service of citizens and societies.

In 2023, the theme of the European Statistics Day will be: "Statistics for better development in a rapidly changing world".

The day is usually marked by the launch of new products, related publications, the organisation of events and actions targeted at different audiences.

In Portugal, the European Statistics Competition (ESC 2024) will be launched.
