In May 2009, hotel activity registered 3.2 million of overnight stays, accounting for a year-on-year downturn of 15.3%, compared with May 2008.  Non residents mainly contributed for this reduction (-18.3%), since residents had a lower downturn (-7.8%).
Total income from hotel activity reached 152.9 million euros and income from hotel occupancy 101.8 million euros, both corresponding to decreases of 20.6% and 21%, respectively.
