In October 2009 the seasonally adjusted index for retail trade turnover at constant prices registered a year-on-year rate of -0.6% (-1.2% in September). The year-on-year rate of retail trade turnover excluding fuel stood at 0.4% (-0.9% in the previous month). Employment and the number of hours worked adjusted for working days presented year-on-year growth rates of -2.2% and -3.4%, respectively. The year-on-year growth rate of wages and salaries was 2.6%.
