In the 4th quarter of 2013 the number of building permits decreased by 14.5%, when compared with the 4th quarter of 2012 (-20.6% in the 3rd quarter of 2013), settling at 4.0 thousand buildings. The number of completed buildings decreased by 37.6% (-27.6% in the 3rd quarter of 2013) reaching 4.4 thousand completed buildings.
Vis-à-vis the previous quarter, the number of building permits declined by 2.6% (-4.1% in the 3rd quarter of 2013) while completed buildings decreased by 4.7% (-10.8% in the 3rd quarter of 2013).
In 2013 the number of building permits issued in Portugal corresponded to 16.7 thousand and completed buildings settled at 19.7 thousand, corresponding to decreases of 19.6% and 24.1%, respectively, vis-à-vis 2012.
