Summary
The huge heterogeneous set of entities that were operating within the economic activity under the judicial status of companies is confirmed by the structural indicators calculated based on the Integrated Business Accounts System. In 2011, half of these enterprises accounted for a turnover below EUR 111 thousand while the top ten biggest originated a turnover above EUR one million.
In that particular year, the main economic indicators under study, i.e., turnover, net value added and gross operating surplus were showing signs of an overall decline vis-à-vis 2010. Companies with export profile were the exception to this general behaviour.
