Summary
The CPI recorded an annual rate of change of 3.6% in February 2012. Excluding energy and unprocessed food, the annual rate was 2.2%. On a monthly basis, the CPI decreased to 0.1% (0.5% in January and 0.0% in February 2011). The CPI 12-month average rate increased 0.1 percentage points (p.p.) to 3.7% in January.
In February 2012, the Portuguese Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) annual inflation rate increased to 3.6%, 0.9 p.p. above the rate estimated by Eurostat for the Euro area.
