In the fourth quarter 2008, the average value of bank evaluation on housing on the mainland attained
€1,152/sq. meter, corresponding to a decrease of 1.0% from last quarter and of 6.0% from the same quarter in the previous year. The highest average value was reported, as usual, in the Algarve region: €1,448/ sq. meter. In Lisboa and Porto Metropolitan Areas, the quarterly rate of change was -0.9% and -1.5% respectively.
