Summary
The number of building permits registered an annual average reduction of 10.6% in the third quarter of 2011, settling at 6,100 building permits. The number of completed buildings increased by 9.1%, corresponding to 7,400 buildings completed.
Building permits showed the lowest figures since 2001, both in buildings and dwellings concerning new constructions for family housing. Completed dwellings in new constructions for family housing also recorded the lowest value since the first quarter of 2001.
When compared with the previous quarter the number of building permits declined by 5.5%, while completed buildings decreased by 16.8%.
