Summary
On May 31st early estimates point , despite the delays on spring sowings, to an increases of maize and sunflower areas and the maintenance of the rice, processed tomato and potato surfaces. The localized and intense showers caused damage mainly in tomato, vegetables and vineyards. The outlook for the winter cereals campaign remains bleak, as it is expected a general decline in yield. In orchards of cherry trees, breaks in the early varieties are being compensated for later varieties more productive and with better quality.
