Enterprises that have sourced at least one of their functions to the foreign market show, over the period 2000-2008, a decrease in the number of employees, mostly low-skill jobs, stimulating either the growth of personnel costs per capita and the apparent productivity. Concerning the foreign trade pattern, there was a decrease in the weight held by both exports and imports in the total turnover generated by these enterprises.
