Neste número da COOPSTAT News é merecedora de
destaque a VI Conferência Estatística da CPLP, que
decorreu em Díli, entre 8 e 10 de junho. O Diretor-
Geral de Estatística de Timor-Leste e anfitrião do
evento, Dr. António Freitas, concedeu à COOPSTAT
uma entrevista, em que aborda múltiplas dimensões
da cooperação estatística multilateral e bilateral, bem
como descreve o atual cenário e prioridades do
panorama estatístico timorense. Ainda no âmbito da
cooperação com os países lusófonos são igualmente
mencionados os últimos desenvolvimentos tanto ao
nível multilateral (duas visitas de trabalho realizadas
ao abrigo do Programa de Capacitação Estatística da
CPLP), como bilateral, no qual se sublinha a ação de
cooperação na área de delegação de competências
em Estatísticas da Educação, requisitada pelo INE de
Angola e respetiva entidade delegada doMinistério da
Educação.
Na cooperação no contexto europeu destaca-se: o
acolhimento de dois estágios inseridos no Programa
IPA 2012; a visita de trabalho de outro Estado-membro
da UE, a Croácia, acerca do projeto SIMSTAT; a
participação emdois painéis estatísticos enquadrados
pela Política Europeia de Vizinhança Sul e Leste; e a
visita sobre Qualidade solicitada pelo INE da Sérvia
(SORS).
A secção “em breve” resume o quadro de ações
previstas para o segundo semestre de 2015 que, para
além dos enquadramentos já referidos, abarcará uma
visita de trabalho de uma delegação do Gabinete
Municipal de Estatísticas de Xangai, na área de
Estatísticas do Turismo.
This issue of COOPSTAT News highlights the VI
Statistical Conference of the Community of
Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP), which took
place in Dili, from 8th to 10th of June. Timor-Leste's
Director-General for Statistics, Mr. António Freitas,
who was also the host on this event, kindly agreed to
be interviewed for this issue of Coopstat, in which he
approached several aspects of bilateral and
multilateral statistical cooperation, as well as
described the current context and priorities of the
Timorese statistical environment. The latest
developments also in the context of cooperation with
Portuguese-speaking countries will be mentioned,
whether those of amultilateral nature (two study visits
within the CPLP Statistical Training Programme),
whether the bilateral ones, such as the study visit from
the Angolan NSI and its delegated authority for
Education Statistics, which focused on the several
aspects of the statistical delegation process in this
domain.
Regarding the European context, multiple activities
are underlined, such as: two traineeships within the
IPA 2012 Programme; a study visit from a European
Member-state (Croatia) on SIMSTAT; Statistics
Portugal presence in two statistical meetings
promoted by the European Neighbourhood Policy
initiatives for Southern and Eastern countries; and the
study visit on Quality, requested by the Serbian
Statistical Office (SORS).
The "coming soon" section summarizes the activities
forecasted for the second half of 2015 which, apart
from the frameworks already mentioned, will cover a
working visit of a delegation from the Shanghai
Municipal Bureau of Statistics in the area of Tourism
Statistics.
