The main purpose of this publication is the dissemination of the most recent data of Environmental Accounts, using the National Accounts’ benchmark year of 2000.
Environmental Accounts are a set of statistical projects which, using National Accounts concepts and methods, interconnect the economy and the environment allowing the explanation on how economic activity and households affect the environment.

Giving focus to graphic illustration of data, this publication makes a brief analysis of the results of four environmental accounts and, thus, is divided in four chapters, matching each one of them to one environmental account in particular:

Chapter 1 – Air emissions – 1995-2006
Chapter 2 – Energy consumption – 1995-2006
Chapter 3 – Material flows – 2000-2005
Chapter 4 – Water – 2005
