In this edition of Health statistics, the National Statistical Institute updates the statistical data in the field of Health. This volume presents some of the data from the new Hospitals Survey (concerning 1999), carried on experimentally, which - as the new Health Centres Survey, whose first results were already provided in the previous edition of this publication - suffered significant methodological changes, in order to adapt it better to the current hospital situation. Please note that some of the health indicators, referent to previous years, were revised according to data from the resident population estimates and added with the preliminary results of Census 2001.
