Summary
This publication releases an extended set of indicators on construction and housing in Portugal, focusing on the estimates of the housing stock 1991-2004 and indicators for 2004 on building permits and completed buildings. The level of breakdown of the information is, for most variables, the various NUTS-2 regions, but for some indicators it includes the municipality level, commune groupings, NUTS-3 regions and metropolitan areas. A brief characterisation of the housing stock and its dynamics is also presented, in the light of the final results of the Fourth General Housing Census (2001): lifetime of the housing stock; types of occupation, state of conservation and habitability of accommodations¿.
