Farm structural survey - 2016 completes the life time of structural surveys provided for in Regulation (EC) No 1166/2008 and precedes the next agricultural census.
It aims to describe the Portuguese agriculture, such as land structure, agriculture production systems, labour force and agricultural population.

The current edition provides statistical data and analysis on the structure of agricultural holdings in Portugal and includes comparisons with retrospective structural data.

It is expected that this publication could be a reference for a better understanding of the Portuguese agriculture and help to promote discussion and reflection on this sector, particularly convenient as the results are one of the main data sources for the monitoring and evaluation of the measures implemented by the current Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), with the initial report to be submitted by the Commission to the European Parliament and the Council on 31 December 2018.
