Yes, in the Database> Theme: Environment> Subtheme: Environmental protection, annual indicators, disaggregated at the municipal level, relating to environmental expenditure since 1993 and environmental revenues since 1994 are available from the ‘Environmental statistics of municipalities — long series.’

Examples of indicators

·         Expenditure on the environment (EUR) by the municipalities by Geographical Location (NUTS — 2013), Economic Classifier (Expenditure) and Environmental Domains; Annual.

·         Municipal environment revenue per inhabitant (EUR/hab.) by Geographical Location (NUTS — 2013) and Environment domains; Annual.

It should be noted that, in the Database, the tables of the selected indicators show, by default, the most recent and aggregated information. However, they can be changed through the option “Change selection conditions” to obtain finer breakdowns in the dimensions of the indicators: ‘Geographical location’, ‘Economic classifier’ (Expenditure/Revenue), ‘Environmental domains’, as well as other reporting periods.

In this sub-theme, the long series of municipal statistics also provides indicators for municipalities’ investments in biodiversity protection and waste management by type of investment.
