Summary
In December 2010, hotel activity registered 1.7 million overnight stays, accounting for a year-on-year increase of 1.7%, compared to December 2009. For this result the Mainland contributed the most, since the Autonomous Regions had decreases in the number of overnight stays (-7.6% in Azores and -9.9% in Madeira).
The Italian, Spanish and Dutch markets registered a positive performance in 2010, both in terms of evolution and relative weight.
Total income from hotel activity reached EUR 90.3 million and income from hotel occupancy EUR 55.8 million,  corresponding to increases of 1.6% and 4.9%, respectively.
