Summary
The Portuguese Consumer Price Index (CPI) went up by 2.3% in October 2010 when compared with October 2009. Excluding energy and unprocessed food, the annual rate stood at 0.9%. On a monthly basis, the CPI increased 0.4%. The CPI 12-month average rate of change increased to 0.9% in October (0.6% in September).
In October, the Portuguese Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) annual inflation rate increased to 2.3%, 0.4 percentage points (p.p.) above the rate estimated by Eurostat for the Euro area.
