Summary
The main preliminary results of Enterprises Statistics, – mainly provided from IES (“Informação Empresarial Simplificada”) - compiled and disseminated by Statistics Portugal, indicate that the portuguese business sector (non financial enterprises), including sole proprietors, comprises a total of around 1.1 million enterprises in 2006, responsible for the employment of 3.8 million workers and for a Gross Value Added (GVA) at current prices of 78.8 thousand million Euros.
