In May 2006 hotels recorded 3.4 million overnight stays, which corresponds to a year-on-year increase of 4.7%. This rise was chiefly due to both residents (2.9%) and non-residents (5.4%). In this period, total income attained €161.5 million and income from hotel occupancy totalled €105.2 million, accounting for positive year-on-year changes of 9.3% and 6.9% respectively.
