In May the Business Climate Indicator deteriorated, maintaining the swings observed in recent months. The confidence levels in manufacturing industry deteriorated further, albeit more slightly than in the two previous months. In services, the confidence indicator stabilised, after the deterioration of the two previous months. In Trade confidence got worse, in both wholesale trade and retail trade, to a five month trough . In construction and public works the indicator deteriorated for the first time after the improvements observed in the three previous months. The Consumer Confidence Indicator recovered, but less than before.
