In the 3rd quarter of 2023, national airports handled 20.9 million passengers, corresponding to a growth of 13.1% compared to the same period in 2022 (+14.9% in the 2nd Q 2023; +11.3% compared to the 3rd Q 2019).
In this quarter, 53.2 million passengers travelled by train (+19.1%; +12.8% in the 2nd Q 2023) and 63.7 million travelled by metro (+16.2%; +18.0% in the 2nd Q 2023). Compared to the 3rd Q 2019, there were variations of +15.3% and -1.8%, respectively.
In the 3rd quarter of 2023, passenger transport by inland waterways increased 19.9% compared to the 3rd Q 2022 (+18.7% in the 2nd Q 2023), reaching 7.4 million passengers and increasing 4.1% compared to the 3rd Q 2019.
Regarding the transport of goods, there was an increase by rail (+2.3%) and decreases by sea (-5.6%), air (-6.1%) and road (-10.9%). Compared to the 3rd Q 2019, freight transport by air, sea and rail increased (+1.4%, +2.0% and +0.8%, in the same order), with transport by road decreasing (-16.6%).
