Study on the municipal purchasing power
In 2007, 39 municipalities exhibited a per capita purchasing power above the national average - 2007
27 November 2009

Summary
In 2007, from a total of 308 Portuguese municipalities, only 39 exhibited a per capita purchasing power above the national average. The results show a concentration of higher values in Lisbon and Porto metropolitan areas as well as in municipalities which are heads of administrative districts. The analysis, therefore, suggests a positive association between the degree of urbanization and the purchasing power regularly revealed.
