Summary
In the first quarter 2009, the average value of bank evaluation on housing on the mainland attained
€1,149/sq. meter, corresponding to a decrease of 0.3% from last quarter and of 5.8% from the same quarter in the previous year. However, these decreases were slightly smaller than the ones observed in the previous quarter (respectively, -1.0% and -6.0%). The highest average value was reported, as usual, in the Algarve region: €1,400/sq. meter. In Lisboa and Porto Metropolitan Areas, the quarterly rates of change were -0.1% and -1.0% respectively.
