Summary
In August the Business Climate Indicator improved again for the third consecutive month, reaching the maximum level since September 2004. The confidence levels in manufacturing industry continued the recovery shift observed over the two previous months. As regards Services, the confidence indicator stabilised, after strong upward movements in the two previous months. In Trade, confidence recovered, in both retail trade and wholesale trade. In construction and public works, the confidence indicator improved slightly, but remained virtually close to the level reached in July, the lowest since December 2003. The Consumer Confidence Indicator improved, reaching the highest level of the last fourteen months.
