Adverse prospects for poultry industry: fall in egg production and in poultry prices

Summary
In December 2005 the poultry industry maintained a downward trend, with declines in egg production, either for consumption or for hatching, and falls in the price index of poultry vis-à-vis the same month of 2004.
In turn, the volume of slaughtered cattle rose, in particular the slaughter of pigs, which increased by 5.7% from the same month of the previous year.
