In April 2006 hotels registered 3.4 million overnight stays, which represents a very positive year-on-year change (24.2%). Behind this growth was probably the fact that Easter occurred in April this year, whereas in 2005 it had occurred in March. Total income and income from hotel occupancy also increased, year-on-year, by 16.6% and 18.1% respectively.
