Agricultural forecasts
Less productive pear fruit trees - June 2005
19 July 2005

Summary
On 30 June early estimates point to the continued draught situation, with different consequences for the present season. Confirming previous forecasts, spring/summer crops declined, unit yield in temporary dry-land farming dropped and some permanent crops faced water shortages, which may affect their production. Animal feeding, in turn, faced broadly based shortages, with growing concerns about the future, since forage stocks are insufficient to ensure livestock needs.
