Lisboa and Porto with growth rates above 23% - 4th Quarter 2018

Summary


In the fourth quarter of 2018 (last 12 months), 42 municipalities located mainly in Algarve (1 523 €/m2) and in Área Metropolitana de Lisboa (1 333 €/m2) – the two sub-regions with highest prices in the country –  scored median house price of dwellings sales above the national value (996 €/m2).
Lisboa (3 010 €/m2) registered the highest median house price of the country and with values above 1 500 €/m2 the municipalities of Cascais (2 333 €/m2), Oeiras (2 000 €/m2), Loulé (1 948 €/m2), Lagos (1 787 €/m2), Albufeira (1 709 €/m2), Tavira (1 686 €/m2), Porto (1 612 €/m2), Lagoa (1 538 €/m2), Funchal (1 534 €/m2) and Odivelas (1 523 €/m2) also stood out.
Lisboa (+23.5%) and Porto (+23.3%) scored the highest year-on-year rates of change among the cities with more than 100 thousand inhabitants. For the first time, since the 1st quarter of 2016, the median values of dwellings sales of the seven parishes of the city of Porto were above 1 000 €/m2, with the highest value being 2 289 €/m2. Three parishes of Lisboa scored prices above 4 000 €/m2: Santo António, Santa Maria Maior and Misericórdia.
