Passengers and goods transport with symmetrical evolution trend - 2nd Quarter 2019

Summary

In the 2nd quarter 2019, passengers at national airports reached 16.7 million, representing a growth of 7.8% (+6.2% in the 1stQ). Also, the emphasis went to the increase up to 68.2 million passengers in light railway systems (+8.5%; +6.1% in the 1stQ). Inland waterways passenger transport also increased: +8.3%, after +12.6% in the 1stQ.
On the contrary, with the exception of air transport, with an increase of 9.1%, after +5.4% in the 1stQ, there were reductions in the movement of goods in various modes of transport: -8.1% in national maritime ports (+2.9% in the 1stQ), -16.2% by rail (-3.0% in the previous quarter) and -2.8% by road (+0.7% in the preceding quarter).
