The tourism accommodation sector registered 2.7 million guests and 7.1 million overnight stays in June 2019, corresponding to year-on-year rates of change of +9.7% and +5.6% respectively (+7.0% and +3.1% in May, in the same order). Overnight stays of residents increased by 11.6% (+9.1% in May) and those of non-residents grew by 3.2% (+1.2% in the previous month).
In June 2019, the average stay (2.63 nights) decreased by 3.7% (-1.7% as regards residents and -3.9% for non residents).
The net bed occupancy rate (55.5%) increased by 0.1 p.p. (-0.8 p.p. in May).
Revenue accelerated, with total revenue increasing by 11.8% (+4.7% in May) to a total of EUR 466.0 million. Revenue from accommodation (EUR 351.6 million) grew by 12.1% (+4.3% in the preceding month).
The revenue per available room (RevPAR) was EUR 62.5 (+6.5%) and the average daily rate (ADR) stood at EUR 96.8 (+6.2%).
