In April 2019, the unemployment rate was 6.6%, corresponding to an increase of 0.1 percentage points (pp) from the previous month, the same value from three months before and a decrease of 0.5 pp from the same month of 2018. That value corresponds to a downwards revision of 0.1 pp of the provisional estimate released one month ago.
In comparison to the previous month, the unemployed population has increased by 5.8 thousand people (1.7%) and the employed population has increased by 1.6 thousand people, which corresponds to a nearly null relative change.
The provisional unemployment rate estimate for May 2019 was 6.6%, the same value as in the previous month.
