Summary
In 2013 the majority of the enterprises exporting and importing goods had less than 10 persons employed. However, the bigger enterprises exported more, especially in Extra-EU trade.
A limited number of enterprises were responsible for a high value of international trade, more significant in Extra-EU trade: the 10 bigger exporters registered 22.1% of total Intra-EU exports and 29.9% of Extra-EU exports, while in imports those ratios were 10.9% and 60.4%, respectively.
Most of the enterprises traded goods with only one country: 69.3% of the enterprises, corresponding to 10.3% of total exports. Enterprises with a wider variety of destination markets registered the highest value of exports, corresponding to 70.0% of the total (6 to 9 countries in Intra-EU trade with a share of 22.6%, and 20 or more countries in Extra-EU trade, corresponding to 40.7%).
