Summary
In the 4th quarter of 2014 the number of building permits decreased by 4.2%, when compared with the 4th quarter of 2013 (-5.9% in the 3rd quarter of 2014), settling at 3.8 thousand buildings. Building permits for new construction declined by 1.5% (-9.9% in the 3rd quarter of 2014), while rehabilitation works decreased by 9.6% (-2.2% in the 3rd quarter of 2014). The number of completed buildings decreased by 35.7% (-42.3% in the 3rd quarter of 2014) reaching 3.2 thousand completed buildings.
Vis-à-vis the previous quarter, the number of building permits decreased by 0.7% (-5.8% in the 3rd quarter of 2014) while completed buildings declined by 5.4% (-8.6% in the 3rd quarter of 2014).
In 2014 the number of building permits issued in Portugal reached 15.4 thousand and completed buildings settled at 14.5 thousand, corresponding to decreases of 5.0% and 37.2%, respectively,  vis-à-vis 2013 (-22.7% and -11 0% in 2013).
