Summary
Statistics Portugal releases at www.ine.pt the results of “Estimativas Provisórias de População Residente, 2012, Portugal, NUTS II, NUTS III e Municípios” (Provisional Estimates of Resident Population in Portugal for 2012) as well as the main demographic indicators for 2012.
Demographic balance for 2012 is characterized by a decrease of 55,109 individuals, as a result of both a negative natural balance (-17,757) and a negative net migration (-37,352). Consequentially, the resident population is estimated at 10,487,289 individuals by 31st December 2012.
