Summary
Based on data from the publication "Construction and Housing Statistics - 2007", available since today on Statistics Portugal web site, it can be concluded that in 2007 the total number of building permits decreased by 7.4% from the previous year. As regards completed buildings, the decline was even more marked, standing at -11.1%. When analysing new residential buildings, the declines are similar (-8.6% for building permits and -11.9% regarding completed buildings).
