“Olá, bom dia”!
That’s how my daily work started every morning at
“Instituto Nacional de Estatística” (INE) since the first day
I arrived in here.
First of all a big thank goes to INE Portugal, for hosting
me and giving the opportunity to learn and extend my
knowledge. This traineeship gave me the possibility and
chance to gather extra experience in working on a different
environment and sharing my knowledge, my ideas with e
great professional team.
During my traineeship at INE and especially to my unit, I
had the possibility to work with very experienced people,
which helped me to gain some extra knowledge. Thanks
to them I extend my organisational skills and ability to
work in a team. I will try to share all experience and my
knowledge gained in INE with colleagues at my office in
INSTAT, and other colleagues there.
I could say that the whole Geoinformation unit at INE was
really very professional and kind and I would like to take
this opportunity to thank Ms. Ana M. Santos, my mentor,
I was so lucky to be on her supervision. She has been more
than a mentor to me, I really appreciate her support in
work and the hospitality she provided to me since the
beginning of this traineeship.
My work was mainly connected with Francisco Caldeira,
which I really want to thank him for the experience I gained
during my work in here. I really appreciate his patience
and energy he showed by explaining me step by step the
work I had to do. I’ll miss the warmly conversations with
Bartholomeus Schoenmakers and M. Fátima Martins, who
have been not only colleagues but real friends for me. I
want to thank Luis Garcia, Guilherme Graça, João Rosão,
Mário Lucas and the whole Geo team who supported me
all the time and helped me as much as they could.
I had also the opportunity to meet other people in INE and
everybody has been so nice to me. I participated in one
of INE activities, I took yoga classes and here I want to
thank Tucha, the teacher and my yoga group for the warm
welcoming at the course.
Duringmyweekends here I profited a little bit to visit Lisbon
and other Portugal Cities to learn more about Portuguese
culture. I’m really impressed about magnificent castles in
Portugal and other historical places I visited.
At the end I’m really sad to leave Lisbon so soon, but I’m
glad that I had this great opportunity to be part of INE
and to work with very professional people during a little
over three months.
I hope that this traineeship will be as a link of cooperation
in the future with INE.
I will miss INE and Lisbon in every aspect.
