This publication includes the main tables from the 2005/2006 Portuguese National Health Survey, developed in partnership by National Health Institute (INSA) and Statistics Portugal.

The General Directorate of Health, the Açores Regional Secretary of Social Affairs and the Madeira Regional Secretary of Social Affairs, also cooperated in this Fourth Health Interview Survey.

This is the first health interview survey that also covers the residents in the Autonomous Region of Açores and in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. In that sense this is the first portrait of health in Portugal that reflects the perspective of all residents in the country.
