This publication provides the main statistics concerning the tourism activity during the year 1999.

Aiming at allowing users general data for the characterisation of tourism evolution in the recent years, there were published some synthetic tables coverng the period 1995-1999, along with, in a brief analysis, the evolution of some of the main indicators of the sector.

The statistical information is provided according to the level II of the "Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics - NUTS.
