In the first quarter of 2005 the average value of the bank evaluation on housing on the mainland reached €1.199/sq.meter, corresponding to a quarterly decline of 0.8%. The highest average value of bank evaluation on housing occurred in the Algarve region, and attained €1.446/sq. meter. In the Lisboa Metropolitan Area the average value of bank evaluation went up by 0.7% from the previous quarter, while in the Porto Metropolitan Area it dropped by 0.3%.
