In the 1^st quarter of 2024, 5,700 buildings were licensed, which represents a decrease of 11.3 % compared to the 1^st quarter of 2023 (-0.9% in the 4^th quarter of 2023). Buildings licensed for new construction fell by 15.1% (-4.4% in the 4^th quarter of 2023). Licensing for renovations fell by 0.6 % after increasing by 13.0 % in the 4^th quarter of 2023.

Completed buildings increased by 4.5% compared to the 1^st quarter of 2023 (+2.1% in the 4^th quarter of 2023), totalling 3.8 thousand buildings.

In the residential sector, dwellings licensed for new construction fell by 20.3% in the 1^st quarter of 2024 (+2.7% in the 4^th quarter of 2023) while completed dwellings increased by 9.5% (+1.4% in the 4^th quarter of 2023). 

Compared to the previous quarter, the number of licensed buildings grew by 5.2% (+0.1% in the 4^th quarter of 2023), while the number of completed buildings fell by 3.4% (+3.0% in the 4^th quarter of 2023).
