• The employed population (5,025.3 thousand) increased from April 2024 (0.2%), from February 2024 (0.5%) and from May 2023 (1.5%).
• The unemployed population (347.7 thousand) increased from the previous month (1.2%) and a year earlier (2.9%), having decreased from three months before (1.9%).
• The unemployment rate stood at 6.5%, up 0.1 percentage points (pp) from the previous month and from the same month of 2023, but down 0.1 pp from three months before.
• The inactive population (2,438.0 thousand) decreased from April (0.2%), remained almost unchanged from February 2024 and increased from May 2023 (1.7%).
• The labour underutilisation rate was estimated at 11.1%, the same values as in the previous month, but down by 0.3 pp from three months before and by 0.6 pp from a year earlier.
June 2024 (provisional estimates):
• The active population (5,358.2 thousand) decreased from May (0.3%) and March 2024 (0.2%), having increased from June 2023 (1.3%).
• The employed population (4,997.5 thousand) decreased from the previous month (0.6%) and from three months before (0.5%), having increased from a year earlier (0.9%).
• The unemployed population (360.8 thousand) increased from the three periods under comparison: 3.8%, 4.1% and 8.2%, respectively.
• The unemployment rate stood at 6.7%, up 0.2 pp both from March and May of 2024 and up 0.4 pp from June 2023.
• The inactive population (2,459.9 thousand) increased from the three periods under comparison: 0.9%, 1.2% and 2.5%, respectively.
• The labour underutilisation rate stood at 11.3%, up from May (0.2 pp) and from March of 2024 (0.1 pp), but down from June 2023 (0.3 pp).
