In the 2nd quarter of 2023, national airports handled 18.4 million passengers, corresponding to an increase of 14.9% compared to the same period of 2022 (+54.3% in the Q1 2023; +10.0% vis-à-vis the Q2 2019).
In the same quarter of 2023, 49.0 million passengers were transported by train (+12.8%; +18.0% in the Q1 2023) and 64.9 million by metro (+18.0%; +39.7% in the Q1 2023). Compared to Q2 2019, there were change rates of +13.9% and -5.3%, respectively.
In the 2nd quarter of 2023, the transport of passengers by inland waterways increased by 19.4% compared to Q2 2022 (+32.4% in the Q1 2023), reaching 5.8 million passengers, and increasing by 5.6% compared to Q2 2019.
Regarding freight transport, there were an increase by sea (+1.8%) and decreases by rail (-0.3%), by air (-1.5%) and by road (-12.1%). Compared to Q2 2019, freight transport by air, sea and rail increased (+7.3%, +4.0% and +3.9%, in the same order), and road transport decreased (-16.5%).
