Summary
The Business Climate Indicator recovered in October, after having stabilised in September, when it discontinued the downward shift seen in previous months. The improvement in the confidence levels extended to Trade. Favourable developments in the indicators in manufacturing industry and services were more apparent than last month. construction and public works maintained the downward profile, reaching the lowest level of the current year, although less unfavourable than any observation in 2004. The Consumer Confidence Indicator improved, discontinuing the deterioration seen in the four previous months.
